Brainstorming

IF you want to make money from your writing then you must start looking at the world with a writer's eyes.
Ideas will come to you when you least expect them. Always carry a notebook with you to jot them down before they vanish like mist in the morning. Regularly review this list, take the most promising ideas and start a brainstorming session with yourself.
This is what to do:
Sit down with a big piece of paper or a notebook in front of you or sit yourself in front of your computer. At the top of the page, write down your idea. Look at it for a couple of minutes and let it sink into your brain.
Then set yourself a limit of 15 minutes and write down anything that comes into your head relating to the central premise. Don't censor your thoughts; just let them come.
You may get ideas about a plot if it's fiction or a new angle if it's an article. The characters may start to come alive or ideas for possible markets may pop into your head. Odd sentences or scraps of dialogue may appear. You may write a list of questions that you need answered or a list of people you need to interview.
A reader-grabbing first paragraph might arise... or a killer ending.
At the end of 15 minutes you will be amazed at how much you have covered and right there in front of you will be the seeds for a piece of writing.
